Robert (Bob) Friedrich's was born on February 10, 1965 in Livonia, Michigan. Bob grew up in the city of Livonia and attended Bentley High School. Bob then attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan (now known as Kettering University), graduating in 1988 with a degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and is a member of the SAE fraternity. Since graduating from college, Bob has until recently held the positions as plant manager and vice president of engineering at a company based in metro Detroit.
Bob married Katherine (Katie) Chesney on September 30, 1995 and they have two sons, Zachary (age 20) and Ryan (age 17). Zachary is currently at Michigan State University studying economics and Ryan is a senior at South Lyon high school. Bob and Katie's sons have been very active in sports, including baseball, basketball, and golf, where Bob has been involved as a coach and mentor.
